Pakistan Army Fully Committed to Eradicating Terrorism: DG ISPR

Peshawar – Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has reaffirmed that the Pakistan Army remains fully committed to eliminating terrorism from the country. Addressing a press conference in Peshawar, the DG ISPR stated that Pakistan has been fighting the menace of terrorism for over two decades, and the Pakistan Army, alongside the resilient people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, will root out terrorism once and for all. He revealed that on average, 40 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) are being conducted daily, and 14,535 operations have been carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa alone. Referring to the 2014 Army Public School (APS) attack, he said the tragic incident became a turning point, after which law enforcement agencies adopted a comprehensive and coordinated strategy to eradicate terrorism from its roots. However, he added that at a certain stage, terrorists and their facilitators were deliberately given space under a calculated plan, which allowed them to regroup.
