Pakistan Army Destroys Afghan Posts After Unprovoked Firing
Unprovoked firing from Afghan forces along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border was met with a strong and effective response by the Pakistan Army, destroying several Afghan check-posts and the killing of multiple Afghan soldiers and militants. Reports indicate that Afghan Taliban fighters fled the area, leaving behind the bodies of their comrades.
According to security sources, Afghan forces initiated firing at six different locations — Angoor Adda, Bajaur, Kurram, Dir, Chitral, and Baramcha (Balochistan) — with the intent of facilitating the cross-border movement of militants. Pakistani forces, demonstrating high alertness and readiness, responded swiftly and forcefully, effectively silencing enemy fire.
Sources confirm that Pakistan’s prompt counteraction destroyed several Afghan border posts and eliminated dozens of Afghan soldiers and extremist fighters. Taliban militants reportedly abandoned multiple positions, leaving casualties behind. The aggression from across the border coincided with the Afghan Foreign Minister’s visit to India.
Pakistani forces are now precisely targeting militant hideouts and camps belonging to ISIS and other extremist factions near the border, causing the Afghan side to retreat from several key positions. One major success was the destruction of the Kharchar Fort, described as a key hub for extremist elements.
During the counteroffensive, Pakistan utilized artillery, tanks, and both light and heavy weaponry, in addition to drones and aerial assets to target militant positions. Security sources reported that Afghan command centers providing sanctuary to ISIS and militant networks were also hit effectively.
Among the key targets destroyed were Durani Camp and Turkmanzai Camp, while video evidence from Kharlachi Sector shows Pakistani forces striking Afghan positions with precision. The Jandosar Post was also destroyed.
Sources emphasized that the Pakistan Army is exercising maximum caution to avoid civilian casualties and only targeting hostile elements actively used against Pakistan.
Saudi Arabia’s Response
The Saudi government has urged both Pakistan and Afghanistan to avoid escalation and resolve issues through dialogue and restraint. In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed support for all regional and international efforts aimed at promoting peace, stability, and prosperity — particularly for the peoples of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Saudi Arabia reiterated its desire to see improved bilateral relations between the two brotherly nations for a prosperous and secure region.
Tribal Support for Pakistan Army
Tribal elders and locals from Kurram and Angoor Adda regions have issued a strong message to Afghan militants, pledging to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Pakistan Army in defending the nation.
In a viral Pashto audio message on social media, tribal representatives declared that “defending the homeland is our duty, and we know how to do it well.” They recalled their past resistance against terrorists and warned that any future aggression would be met with the same fierce response.
Tribal leaders further stated that militants crossing from Afghanistan have been attempting incursions into Pakistani territory, and it is imperative for the government and security forces to respond firmly. They reaffirmed their commitment to cooperate fully with Pakistani forces and, if necessary, defend their areas through community-led efforts.
