Pakistan Archives Military Superiority Over India : U.S. Congress

According to a report by the U.S. Congress, Pakistan achieved military superiority over India in a limited conflict in May 2025. During this period, China tested its advanced defense systems in a real operational environment.

The report stated that between 2024 and 2025, China increased military cooperation with Pakistan, including joint exercises, counter-terrorism drills, and Pakistan’s multinational peacekeeping exercises.

During the four-day engagement, Pakistani forces demonstrated remarkable performance with Chinese weapons. For the first time in an operational conflict, China’s HQ-9 missile defense system, PL-15 air-to-air missiles, and J-10 fighter jets were used, providing China with significant real-world experience.

The report highlighted that Pakistan effectively targeted Indian French Rafale jets with Chinese weaponry, strengthening China’s arms export credibility. In June 2025, China approved the sale of J-35 advanced fighter jets, KJ-500 aircraft, and ballistic missile defense systems to Pakistan.

In the same month, Pakistan increased its defense budget for 2025–2026 by 20%, raising defense spending to $9 billion, despite an overall reduction in the total national budget.
