Pakistan has agreed to resume talks with Afghanistan following a request from the host country. According to informed sources, another round of dialogue between Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban government is expected soon in Istanbul.
Sources reveal that the Afghan side has shown flexibility in its stance, acknowledging that Pakistan will not retreat from its clear and firm policy. Islamabad maintains that cross-border terrorism originating from Afghan soil is unacceptable, and Pakistan will not compromise on its national security.
Officials in Islamabad confirmed that Pakistan will participate in the talks with sincerity but will not deviate from its core security position. They emphasized that the country’s red lines regarding national security remain firm and cannot be influenced by pressure, propaganda, or diplomatic maneuvering.
Pakistan has made it clear that it seeks meaningful and result-oriented talks, not symbolic ones — discussions that yield concrete guarantees against cross-border terrorism.
According to sources, Pakistan has conveyed to the Afghan government that if it truly desires regional peace and wants to avoid further diplomatic isolation, it must take tangible steps to dismantle the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and its affiliated terrorist networks.
