Pak Navy Remains An Iron Shield On The Country’s Maritime Borders: Field Marshal

The Pakistan Navy remains an iron shield along the country’s maritime borders, says Field Marshal Asim Munir.

On the occasion of Hangor Day, commemorating the unmatched bravery of the submarine PNS Hangor, Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted that on December 9, 1971, the crew of Hangor created a glorious chapter of courage by sinking the enemy ship Kukri and severely damaging Khukri, shattering Indian naval pride.

Field Marshal Asim Munir stated that the Pakistan Navy, even in 1971, stood as an impenetrable wall against the enemy and continues to serve as a stronghold on the nation’s maritime frontiers. He emphasized that Pakistan seeks peace but remains resolute in defending its sovereignty.

Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Pakistan Navy, added that following Hangor’s illustrious tradition, eight modern Hangor-class submarines will soon join the Pakistan Navy. The Navy remains fully prepared to defend the nation on all fronts.

On this occasion, the Pakistan Navy released a special documentary film “Hadaf”, based on the war diary of the commanding officer of submarine Hangor, Vice Admiral (Retired) Ahmed Tasneem.
