Pak Leaders Grieve Ahmedabad Plane Tragedy

Ahmedabad: An Air India passenger plane crashed into a doctors’ hostel building near Ahmedabad airport in the Indian state of Gujarat.

Several of the 240 people on board the plane are reported to have died. Pakistani political, social, and journalistic figures have expressed deep grief and sorrow over this tragic incident.

Expressing grief over the accident, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said, “It is heartbreaking to hear the news of the Ahmedabad plane crash. Our prayers and sympathies are with the victims and their families.”

Former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif said: “This tragedy is not of any one country, but of humanity. We offer our heartfelt condolences to the affected families.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said in his condolence message: “This accident is heartbreaking. I express my heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the people of India.”

Member of the National Assembly Asifa Bhutto Zardari wrote on the social media platform ‘X’: “The tragic news of the plane crash has deeply shocked my heart. My prayers and sympathies are with the affected families.”

Artist and social activist Fakhr Alam wrote: “Deeply saddened to hear the news of the Ahmedabad accident. My condolences and prayers are with the families of the deceased.”

Noted journalist Hamid Mir called the accident a tragedy for the entire region: “Air travel is becoming unsafe day by day. My prayers are with all the victims of the accident.”

These statements by Pakistani leaders and personalities make it clear that the pain of human tragedies transcends borders, and in this hour of sorrow, the Pakistani people also sympathize with India.
