Pak-India DGMOs Hold Hotline Talks On Ceasefire Stability

The hotline was contacted between the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and India, in which the ceasefire agreement was discussed.

According to sources, the top military officials of the two countries spoke on the phone and reviewed the border security situation in the context of the recent tension. The focus of the discussion was on the current situation of the ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC) and its continuity.

It should be noted that India launched a missile attack on Pakistan on the intervening night of May 6 and 7, in response to which the Pakistani Air Force destroyed five enemy warplanes. Even after this, the series of Indian provocations continued, in response to which the Pakistani armed forces launched a counter-operation ‘Banyan Marsus’ on May 10 and penetrated into India and targeted military targets.

Later, US President Donald Trump played a mediating role to reduce the tension, after which a ceasefire was agreed between the two countries.

DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry clarified in a briefing yesterday that the desire for a ceasefire came from India, Pakistan did not request it.

Meanwhile, Federal Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has stated that if negotiations take place, they will discuss water, terrorism and the Kashmir issue.
