Over 21,000 Pakistanis Revealed To Be Imprisoned In Jails Worldwide

In a written reply submitted to the National Assembly, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar revealed that 21,647 Pakistani citizens are imprisoned in various jails across the world. The report states that Pakistanis are detained in India, Gulf countries, China, Europe, the United States, and several other regions under different charges.

According to the written reply, 738 Pakistanis are imprisoned in India, but Indian authorities have not provided any information regarding the charges against them.
In Saudi Arabia, 10,745 Pakistanis are jailed for different offenses, with some already convicted while many cases are still under trial.

In the United Arab Emirates, 5,297 Pakistanis are imprisoned, though details of their charges are not available.
China currently holds 652 Pakistani citizens, most of whom are detained for drug trafficking, counterfeit currency, fraud, or illegal immigration.

The number of Pakistani prisoners in other countries is as follows: Qatar 599, Oman 578, Malaysia 444, Italy 353, Bahrain 218, and Türkiye 190.
In the United States, 141 Pakistanis are incarcerated, while 91 are imprisoned in Afghanistan.

Overall, 13,078 Pakistanis abroad are facing trials, whereas 8,569 have been convicted.
