Numerous Domestic and International Flights Were Canceled at Karachi Airport

Today there have been multiple aircraft disruptions at Jinnah Airport in Karachi due to weather and other technical issues. Details indicate that Serene Air’s flight ER 411 to Madinah is six hours delayed, and that PIA flight PK 8021 from Karachi to Madinah has been cancelled.

Three other flights, AirSial flight PF 143, SereneAir flight ER 522, and PIA flight PK 306, from Karachi to Lahore have also been canceled. The international flight PA-171, operated by AirBlue, from Karachi to Jeddah, has been canceled. The internal Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-369 from Karachi to Islamabad was also canceled, per the flight schedule.

In addition, AirSial flight PF-144 from Karachi to Lahore has been canceled while PIA flight PK-341 from Karachi to Faisalabad has been delayed. There was a delay on AirBlue Flight PA-401, which was traveling from Karachi to Lahore. There was also a delay in PIA aircraft PA-311 from Karachi to Quetta.

Prior to this, At least 46 flights to and from Jinnah International Airport in Karachi were delayed due to the local weather.

As many as 46 flights were canceled, according to sources inside the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), because to gloomy weather, sporadic rainfall, and other various factors.

“In addition to international flights to Dubai, Jeddah, and Riyadh, domestic flights from Karachi to Skardu, Lahore, Gwadar, Sukkur, Turbat, Peshawar, Multan, and Islamabad were cancelled,” the statement read.

At least ten flights at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi were canceled on Sunday, and eight more had to be delayed as a result of severe weather and persistent, heavy downpours around the port city.

Five PIA flights—PK-306, PK-370, PK-341, and PK-349—that were supposed to depart from the city have been delayed, according to a CAA representative.

Due to the severe weather, a number of other flights from Karachi airport that were headed overseas were either canceled or delayed.

Furthermore, the CAA spokesperson stated that all scheduled domestic and international flights from Karachi have been canceled.
