Islamabad: An important meeting of the National Security Committee was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in which the situation after the Indian aggression, defense strategy and future course of action were discussed in detail.

At the beginning of the meeting, Fateha was offered for the citizens martyred in the Indian attacks, and prayers were offered for the speedy recovery of the injured.

The committee was briefed that India carried out air, missile, and drone attacks in Sialkot, Shakargarh, Muridke, Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad on the night of May 6 and 7, in which innocent civilians and places of worship were targeted.

Commercial flights to Gulf countries were also threatened due to the attacks. The Indian attacks were based on false allegations, which Pakistan rejected by offering a transparent investigation, however, India tried to hide the facts by carrying out attacks before the visits of international journalists.

Pakistan Army retaliated by shooting down 5 enemy warplanes and several drones, while under Article 51 of the UN Charter, Pakistan has the right to self-defense at all levels.

The National Security Committee has given full powers to the Pakistan Army to give an effective response to the enemy.

The committee has called on the international community to take notice of Indian aggression and hold it accountable for its violation of international law.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, taking a categorical stance, said: “Pakistan wants peace, but will not compromise on its honor and sovereignty. The entire nation stands with its brave forces.”
