Not An Inch Of Railway Land Will Be Spared; Muhammad Hanif Abbasi

MULTAN (Web Desk) — Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi chaired a detailed briefing on the overall performance of the Pakistan Railways Division, Multan.

According to the report, train punctuality during the current fiscal year stood at 88%, compared to 86% during the same period last year. Despite the recent floods, the division’s overall operations remained satisfactory.

Revenue in the first quarter of the fiscal year increased by 77 million rupees compared to last year. Anti-ticketless travel operations generated 13.5 million rupees, while strict action continues against theft and smuggling under a zero-tolerance policy.

The minister was informed that 87.5 acres of railway land had been retrieved, and the anti-encroachment drive is being intensified.

Under his directive, the solarization project is progressing successfully — 14 stations and the DS Office Multan are now fully solar-powered, saving 30 million rupees in electricity costs this year.

He instructed officers to regularly inspect stations, stay in touch with passengers, and ensure efficient service delivery.
