No Petrol Availability From July 5

Abdul Sami Khan, chairman of the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association, has announced that petrol pumps will remain closed on July 5.

Abdul Sami Khan, while holding a press conference in Islamabad, said that petrol pumps cannot be run at a loss and in no way in the world can pumps be run at a loss, double taxation is unacceptable to us.

“We met the finance minister today regarding an important issue and we were told that we have been charged 0.5 percent advance tax which is adding to our concern as our margin is already lower than the above,” he said. A new additional tax has been imposed.

Abdul Sami Khan warned that if this tax is imposed, we will be forced to close petrol pumps and if our business is affected, we will take strict measures. He has said that Iranian oil is being smuggled into the country and our sound is not being heard. We contacted everyone but did not get any effective response.

Chairman Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association has said that they want to make an agreement with Iran and impose a tax on Iranian oil, to stop smuggling, tax should be imposed on Iranian oil, it is the responsibility of the government to prevent smuggling.
