No deadlock or obstruction in talks with IMF, finance ministry officials

Negotiations between Pakistan and the IMF for the preparation of the Staff Level Agreement and Letter of Intent are currently in their final round. Officials from the Finance Ministry have reported that the negotiations are progressing positively with no deadlock or obstacles to success.

Discussions with the IMF mission will focus on the letter of intent, and the draft of the Memorandum of Economic and Financial Policies will be finalized. Officials say that Pakistan has successfully met the IMF’s quarterly targets and the government has taken timely and serious steps to meet their targets. The IMF has assured the continuation of economic reforms.
