New Rs 1,000 Note? State Bank Says Fake

Karachi: After a video of an alleged “new” Rs 1,000 currency note went viral on social media, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has reacted quickly and strongly rejected the claim.

The State Bank has clarified that no such new note has been issued, and the viral video is completely fake.

In the viral video, a user presents a newly designed Rs 1,000 note as if it has been issued regularly.

It was claimed that this new note was issued in 2024, and the old notes will be canceled soon.

The video received more than 10 million views in just 24 hours, especially on TikTok and other social platforms.

However, the State Bank has issued a clarification stating that the process of changing the notes is always accompanied by an official announcement,

and only the official website of the SBP or certified social media channels should be considered reliable for any such news.

The State Bank has appealed to the public not to share fake or misleading content, and to be responsible by avoiding such rumors.
