New Motorway Speed Limit: Fines & Firs For Violators
Lahore: Motorway police have started registering FIRs against drivers who exceed 150 kmph in a crackdown on speeding.
According to a Motorway Police spokesperson, cases have been registered against two vehicles on the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway and three vehicles on Motorways M-4 and M-5.
All the drivers and their vehicles have been taken into custody and handed over to the local police.
The cases registered in the Motorway Police complaint include provisions of negligence and speeding.
According to a police spokesperson, the speed limit for cars on the three-lane motorway is 120 kmph, while for public service vehicles, it is 110 kmph.
A special campaign against speeding vehicles is underway on the instructions of IG Motorway Police Rifat Mukhtar Raja to ensure safe travel on national highways.
