New Gwadar Airport To Bring Prosperity To Area: Shahbaz Sharif
After completing the New Gwadar International Airport, it is time to make it operational.
A briefing was given in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that flights from Gwadar to Muscat will start from January 10 next year.
While the current Karachi-Gwadar flight operation of PII will soon be reduced to three days a week.
During the briefing, the participants of the meeting were told that the New Gwadar International Airport is the largest in the country in terms of area,
This airport can handle A-380 aircraft, and 4 million passengers can travel from Gwadar Airport annually.
The Pakistan Airport Authority has issued an aerodrome certificate to Gwadar Airport, Pakistan Customs has also notified Gwadar Airport,
CAC, ASF, Customs, ANF, and FIA staff have been deployed at the airport.

Officials said that talks are underway with private airlines, China, Om, and UAE for flight operations.
Space has been allocated for cold storage, warehouses, courier services facilities, and cargo sheds at the airport.
Space has also been allocated for technical ground support equipment, fuel farms, hotels, and shopping malls. All banks, including the central bank, have been contacted to establish bank branches and install ATMs at the airport.
Speaking at the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the new international airport of Gwadar is a prominent example of the great friendship between Pakistan and China.
He thanks China for building an airport with international standards and modern facilities. Activating the airport will bring prosperity to the region and create employment opportunities.
The Prime Minister said that a viable strategy should be formulated to make this airport a transit point.
It should be noted that the construction of Gwadar International Airport has cost about 55 billion rupees. The runways of Gwadar International Airport have been built according to world standards,
which can accommodate all large aircraft, including Airbus 380 aircraft.
Gwadar International Airport is a key project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which has been built by the Civil Aviation Authority in collaboration with China.
