NEPRA Cuts Electricity Prices Nationwide

NEPRA has issued a notification reducing electricity prices under the monthly adjustment mechanism for consumers nationwide. According to the notification, electricity prices in Karachi have been reduced by Rs. 4.03 per unit, while in other cities across the country, prices have been decreased by 50 paisa per unit.

This reduction will provide relief to consumers in their July electricity bills. The price cut for K-Electric applies to the April 2025 adjustment, while for the rest of the country, the reduction is part of the May 2025 adjustment.

NEPRA stated that K-Electric had requested a reduction of Rs. 4.69 per unit in the April adjustment, whereas CPPA had proposed a 10 paisa per unit increase in the May adjustment. However, for government DISCO consumers, the price has been reduced by 50 paisa per unit.
