NDMA Issues Flood Alert Amid Heavy Rain Forecast
Islamabad: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert in anticipation of potential floods, predicting heavy rainfall in various parts of the country over the next 24 to 48 hours.
According to the authority, there is a possibility of overflowing of rivers and canals and flooding in several cities of Punjab,
While in various areas of Sindh, there is a possibility of water accumulation due to heavy rains and disruption of normal life.
Meanwhile, torrential rains have been predicted in the mountainous areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which can cause landslides and local floods.
In Gilgit-Baltistan, a dangerous increase in water flow is expected due to the melting of glaciers, while in Azad Kashmir, heavy rains have also created a threat of urban flooding and waterlogging in low-lying areas.
The NDMA has issued instructions to relevant agencies to remain alert and the public to be cautious.
