National Exchequer Boosted by Rs 34.5 Billion

Tax reforms led by Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif are starting to bear fruit.

The Lahore High Court has thrown out a stay order against tax on windfalls of banks, which has benefited the national exchequer by Rs 11.5 billion.

In the past month, as a result of the decisions of the Sindh and Lahore High Courts, a total of Rs 34.5 billion has been deposited in the national exchequer, which will be spent on health, education, and public welfare projects.

Taking notice of this important development, the Prime Minister had directed the formation of a special legal team comprising the Law Minister, Finance Minister, Attorney General and Chairman FBR, whose tireless work made this historic decision possible.

The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazir Tarar, Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb, Attorney General Mansoor Awan, Chairman FBR Rashid Mahmood Langria,l, and their team, saying that similar steps can be expected to increase tax collection and improve the economy.

The Prime Minister expressed his determination that if Gowillls, Pakistan will soon become self-sufficient with more such reform decisions.
