NADMA Issues Severe Storm and Heavy Rain Warning Nationwide
Islamabad: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an advisory in view of the expected weather conditions across the country, saying that thunderstorms, strong winds and heavy rains are expected in the coming days, which may cause problems in different areas.
According to the NDMA, strong thunderstorms, thunderstorms, heavy rains along with hailstorms have been predicted in Islamabad and Rawalpindi from 6 pm to 11 pm today.
Along with this, hailstorms, thunderstorms and heavy rains are also likely in many areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, North Punjab and South-East Punjab.
Due to the severe weather, hailstorms, thunderstorms and rains are expected in the cities of Peshawar, Charsadda, Swabi and Mardan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while thunderstorms and heavy rains have also been forecast in the areas of Rahim Yar Khan and Sadiqabad of South Punjab.
Thunderstorms, gales and rain are likely to increase in intensity in Muzaffarabad and Neelum Valley of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, while rain in the mountainous areas of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan may cause landslides.
The NDMA has directed all concerned government and emergency agencies to be fully prepared for possible emergencies and ensure preventive measures.
The NDMA has requested the public to prioritize their safety during the weather extremes.
Avoid travel, especially in areas where the risks increase during storms and rains.
Stay away from weak buildings, trees and billboards during strong winds and storms to avoid any kind of accident.
Furthermore, the NDMA has warned that standing crops, vehicles and solar panels are likely to be damaged due to this weather condition, so all concerned should be careful.
The public has also been instructed to use Pak NDMA’s Disaster Alert App for weather updates and safety guidance so that timely information can be received and safety measures can be taken.
