NAB has filed a fresh reference in the Toshakhana case against Khan and his wife. The reference was submitted to an accountability court in Islamabad on Tuesday, with the Registrar’s Office currently scrutinizing the document. The reference was filed by Investigating Officer Mohsin Haroon and Case Officer Waqar Hassan.
This new development follows a recent investigation by NAB officials at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, where both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were questioned about the Toshakhana case. The couple has been under scrutiny for the alleged misuse of gifts received from foreign dignitaries during their time in office.
Just yesterday, the court remanded the PTI leader and his wife into judicial custody. This latest reference accuses the couple of purchasing a jewelry set from the Toshakhana and subsequently selling it. The jewelry set is valued at Rs75 million.
This filing comes shortly after their acquittal in the Iddat case on July 13, with the accountability bureau swiftly arresting both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in connection with the new Toshakhana allegations.
