Moon of Muharram 1447 Sighted in Pakistan
Quetta: The moon of Muharram 1447 Hijri has been sighted in Pakistan. This was announced by the Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, after a meeting held in Quetta.
An important meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held in Quetta to sight the moon of Muharram, which was chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
Representatives of Suparco and the Meteorological Department also attended the meeting, while meetings of the zonal and district committees were also held at their respective places.
According to Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, several Shariah testimonies of moon sighting were received from different parts of the country, on the basis of which the moon sighting was announced.
He said that the 1st Muharram will be on Friday, June 27, while the Day of Ashura, 10th Muharram, will be celebrated on Sunday, July 6. 9th Muharram will be on Saturday, July 5th.
With the beginning of Muharram, a series of gatherings, processions and security arrangements have also begun across the country.
