Karachi: The National Disaster Management Authority has expressed the fear of urban flooding from the monsoon system in Sindh, which may also affect Karachi.
According to the details, the National Disaster Management Authority said that urban flooding and moderate flooding in the rivers are expected in different areas of Sindh.
NDMA has said in the alert that according to the National Emergency Operations Center, the current monsoon system is likely to affect Sindh in the next 12 to 24 hours, causing urban flooding in various areas of Sindh.
The spokesperson said that the areas of Sindh, Kashmore, Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Umarkot, Badin, Mithi, and Tharparkar may be affected, due to rains, and there may be local urban flooding/ moderate flooding in rivers.
In the alert, it was said that the residents of the low-lying areas should fully prepare in advance to deal with the possible flood situation and the residents of two or four areas should follow the instructions of the local authorities.
NDMA said people should download the ‘Pak NDMA Disaster Alert’ mobile app for timely alerts and to be aware of the weather.
