According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir attended Christmas celebrations at Christ Church in Rawalpindi and joined the Christian community in celebrating the occasion.
On the occasion, the Field Marshal extended heartfelt Christmas greetings to the Christian community and conveyed his best wishes for peace, harmony, and prosperity. He paid tribute to the Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, highlighting his vision of equality, freedom, and religious tolerance, and stated that the protection of minority rights is a fundamental pillar of Pakistan’s ideology.
While interacting with attendees at the church, the Field Marshal praised the longstanding and proud contributions of Pakistani Christians to national development and security, particularly their generations-long service in the Pakistan Armed Forces. He emphasized the importance of interfaith harmony, mutual respect, and national unity.
ISPR stated that Pakistan’s true strength lies in its constitutional values and equal opportunities, which transcend religion, ethnicity, caste, and belief. The Field Marshal reaffirmed that the Pakistan Armed Forces remain fully committed to safeguarding the dignity, security, and equal rights of all citizens under the Constitution of Pakistan.
Leaders of the Christian community expressed gratitude for the visit and appreciated the role of the Pakistan Armed Forces in promoting national unity, religious harmony, and national defense.
