Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani Marries for the Second Time at the Age of 92

Former Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology and head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Sherani Group), Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani, has tied the knot for the second time at the age of 92. His marriage took place in a simple ceremony held in Islamabad, with the bride belonging to Gilgit-Baltistan.

Confirming the news, Maulana Sherani said, “This is my second marriage; my first wife has passed away.”

Scholars and religious figures congratulated Maulana Sherani on the new chapter of his life and prayed for his health, happiness, and blessings in his marriage.

It is worth mentioning that Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani previously served as Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology and had long been associated with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F). In December 2020, his party membership was revoked by the disciplinary committee, after which he formed a separate faction named Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Sherani Group.

Two years later, Maulana Sherani announced a political and religious alliance with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The decision followed a meeting between Maulana Sherani and former Prime Minister Imran Khan at KP House, Islamabad, where both leaders emphasized joint efforts to counter Islamophobia, promote interfaith harmony, and strengthen social unity through political and religious cooperation.
