Mastung honor killing: Couple Killed Seven Years After Love Marriage

Mastung: A horrifying incident of honor killing occurred in the Mastung district of Balochistan, where a couple who had married for love seven years ago was brutally murdered. The incident took place on Tuesday morning near Noshki Cross, close to Lakpass.

According to SHO Peer Jan of Levies Thana Wali Khan, the victims were identified as Muhammad Shuaib and Benazir. Shuaib hailed from Chatkan in Panjgur, while Benazir was a resident of Hazarganji in Quetta. The couple had married through a court marriage approximately seven years ago. After initial opposition, reconciliation had recently taken place between the couple and Benazir’s family.

The SHO stated that following the reconciliation, Benazir’s brothers invited the couple to Quetta. On Monday night, they began their journey to Quetta. During a stopover at a hotel near Lakpass, Benazir’s brothers obtained their location via phone and arrived at the scene early Tuesday morning. They shot and killed the couple before fleeing.

Tragically, Benazir was pregnant at the time of the murder. The couple’s two children — a six-year-old and a three-year-old — were also present. A case has been registered against Benazir’s brothers, and the Levies have initiated efforts to arrest the culprits.
