Massive Hail May Return to Islamabad

Islamabad: The Meteorological Department has once again predicted heavy hailstorms in the federal capital and its surroundings and has directed citizens to take precautionary measures.

It may be recalled that on Wednesday, there was a heavy hailstorm in Islamabad and its suburbs, as a result of which the windows of hundreds of vehicles were shattered. The windows of Faisal Mosque were also affected by the intensity of the hailstorm.

Due to the hailstorm, roads, parks and courtyards of houses were covered with a white sheet of snow, while vehicles in the open space suffered significant damage.

According to the Meteorological Department, sudden weather changes during the heat wave cause such hailstorms, and such a situation may occur again in the coming days.

Meteorologists say that climate change has particularly affected the region of Pakistan and unexpected weather phenomena are now becoming the norm.

The agency says that an alert has already been issued regarding the risk of hail, and appeals to the public not to park vehicles in open spaces unnecessarily and to monitor the latest weather conditions.
