Major Revelations in Mussawar Khan Kakar Case: DIG Aitzaz Goraya’s Press Conference
DIG Quetta, Aitzaz Ahmad Goraya, along with the spokesperson of the Government of Balochistan, held a press conference revealing significant developments in the case of the abduction and subsequent martyrdom of ten-year-old Mussawar Khan Kakar.
According to DIG Goraya, Mussawar was abducted from Quetta, prompting the Supreme Court and Balochistan High Court to take suo motu notice of the incident. Following this, a high-level Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was formed, comprising police and various intelligence agencies.
The DIG stated that the JIT held 19 meetings to track progress in the investigation. In a large-scale search operation, 2,000 residential houses and 1,200 rented homes were inspected in an effort to locate the missing child.
He further disclosed that on 17 November, the vehicle used in the kidnapping was recovered. Based on the evidence, it was discovered that the banned terrorist organization ISIS was involved in the abduction. Investigations revealed that among the three individuals involved in the crime, two were Afghan nationals.
DIG Goraya stated that during a CTD (Counter Terrorism Department) operation in the Mastung area, one suspect blew himself up. During a subsequent raid on an alleged ISIS camp in Splinji, the terrorists brutally murdered Mussawar Khan.
The child’s body was recovered on 23 November and shifted to the hospital. DNA samples were sent to Lahore for verification, which later confirmed the identity of the body as Mussawar Khan Kakar.
DIG Goraya emphasized that all available resources were utilized in the efforts to recover Mussawar, but the tragic outcome reflects the barbarity and brutality of the terrorists, despite relentless efforts by the law enforcement agencies.
