Major Gas Reserves Found in Sindh’s Sujawal
Karachi: Mari Energies has announced the discovery of significant gas reserves in the Sujawal district of Sindh.
These reserves were discovered in the Sujawal block from the Soho One well, where 30 million cubic feet (MMCF) of gas is expected to be produced per day.
According to experts, this is the first time that gas has been discovered from the lower part of the sandy rocks, which is a major technological breakthrough.
This discovery has opened up the possibility of further exploration for oil and gas in the Sujawal area, and now more formations are being targeted so that the reserves’ full potential can be utilized.
It may be recalled that in March this year, large oil and gas reserves were also discovered in the Waziristan block of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from the Spin Wham One well. According to Mari Energies, this was the second major discovery from there.
These achievements in the energy sector were made possible with the support of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), which has ensured a significant increase in oil and gas reserves in the country for the first time since 2020.
SIFC facilitation has not only boosted local investment but also accelerated the pace of discoveries.
