Lawyers protest: Constitution Highway completely closed.
A group of lawyers has called for a protest against the 26th Constitutional Amendment on the occasion of the Judicial Commission meeting for the appointment of eight new judges in the Supreme Court.
Given this protest, the roads leading to Constitution Highway have been completely blocked, affecting the city’s traffic system and making it difficult for people to reach their offices.
Five roads leading to the Red Zone of Islamabad, namely Serena Chowk, Nadra Chowk, Marriott Chowk, Express Chowk, and T-Cross Bari Imam, have been closed.
While only the Margalla Road route has been kept open to enter the Red Zone.
SincePakistane Pakistan’s Secretariat, Parliament House, and other major offices are located in the same Red Zone, the traffic jam on Margalla Road due to a large number of vehicles has become, making it it difficult for people to reach their offices.
Metro bus service has also been closed from Faiz Ahmed Faiz Station to Pak Secretariat Station.
According to the traffic police, the routes leading to the red zone have been temporarily closed from 6 am today until further notice.
All facilities at the traffic police offices in Shakar Parian will also remain suspended today.
