Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has written a letter to Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Ishtiaq Ibrahim for a judicial inquiry into the May 9 incidents.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Law Minister Aftab Alam while talking to Geonews has said that he has written a letter to Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim regarding the establishment of a judicial commission related to the May 9 incidents.
The letter was sent by the Provincial Government’s Establishment and Administration Department.
Aftab Alam further said that Chief Justice Peshawar High Court will now announce the names for the commission
The head of the judicial commission will be a judge of the Peshawar High Court.
It should be remembered that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet had approved the judicial inquiry into the May 9 incidents and said that the real characters involved in the May 9 incidents would be brought to light.
After coming to the provincial government, PTI had adopted the position that it would conduct a judicial inquiry into the May 9 incidents.
And in this regard, a cabinet meeting was held a few days ago in which a judicial inquiry was approved and now a letter has been officially written to the Chief Justice regarding the judicial inquiry.
