Meetings of the Chief of the Naval Staff of the Armed Forces of Brazil, Admiral Andre Luiz Silva Lima de Santana Mendes held with Federal Minister of Defense Khawaja Asif. Thus, in the course of the meeting, specific aspects of the work of the two countries in the region, as well as the corresponding problems of bilateral cooperation, were considered.
On his turn, the Pakistani Minister of Foreign Affairs, Khawaja Asif pointed out that Brazil is an important partner for Pakistan and Islamabad is interested in diversifying and strengthening the bilateral cooperation in all spheres.
The areas of EEAS’s concern were illustrated by the federal minister while emphasizing Pakistan’s role in the region and its relation with neighboring countries:
The minister elaborated on Pakistan’s efforts for peace and stability in the region. The two leaders focused on increasing the configurations and the scopes of cooperation in the sphere of defense, which is rather prospective for both states.
The two parties also agreed to formalize the military cooperation through the signing of a memorandum of understanding. Also, on the table were such agendas; Exchange of trainees between the training institute of the two parties regularly.
