Five police personnel were martyred when unknown assailants opened fire on a police mobile van in the Gargarai Dami Banda area of Karak. Following the firing, the police vehicle caught fire, causing further damage.
According to police officials, a heavy police contingent immediately reached the scene, cordoned off the area, and launched a search operation to trace the attackers. The martyred personnel have been identified as Shahid Iqbal, Safdar, Arif, and Muhammad Abrar.
DPO Karak Saud stated that evidence has been collected from the scene and a thorough investigation has been initiated from all angles.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack on the police vehicle, expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of the five police officials, and offered prayers for the elevation of their ranks. He also extended condolences to the bereaved families, stating that the police have always played a frontline role in the war against terrorism and that the entire nation salutes the martyrs.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also condemned the incident, paid rich tribute to the fallen police personnel, and expressed heartfelt sympathy with their families. He said that attacking security personnel is a clear act of brutality and that the sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain, as the state will respond with full force.
The Governor and Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, along with other political and social figures, also strongly condemned the attack.
