Karachi Shaken By 19 Earthquakes In 3 Days, Residents Panic
Karachi — Earthquakes have continued for the third consecutive day in the Quaid-e-Azam city, with a total of 19 earthquakes recorded so far.
These tremors have caused panic among the citizens and in many areas people are leaving their homes and heading towards parks and mosques.
The latest earthquake was felt at 11:34 am, with a magnitude of 2.5 and a depth of 30 km. The epicenter was 15 km northeast of DHA City.
Earlier, a 3.2 magnitude earthquake hit Korangi at 6:42 am, while tremors were also felt in Malir, Landhi and other areas at 8:49 pm on Monday night. The magnitude was 3.0 on the Richter scale and the depth was 13 km.
According to experts, these tremors are aftershocks, which may continue for the next few days, but there is no need to panic about them.
At around 12 midnight, tremors were felt once again in Landhi, Sherpao, Quaidabad and Muhammad Nagar. Cracks appeared in the walls of many houses, women, elderly and children were forced to take shelter in parks, while the call to prayer began to be heard from mosques in the area.
