Karachi Protests End After Agreement Reached

After the agreement was reached on the situation in Kurram, the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) announced the end of the ongoing sit-ins across the country.

After this, the ongoing sit-ins at various places in Karachi have also bonded and the roads have been opened for traffic. But the main highway in Kurram is still closed.

According to the traffic police, Namishe Chowrangi has been opened for traffic, and Abu-ul-Hasan Isfahani Road to Abbas Town has also been opened.

Traffic is flowing on the road from Kamran Chowrangi to Masamiyat, and the road from Water Pump to Ancholi has also been opened for traffic.

The road from Sohrab Goth to Water Pump is open for traffic.

But the sit-ins of Ahle Sunnah Wal Jamaat are ongoing at most places.

Despite successful negotiations, the roads in Kurram remain closed for the 87th day, citizens are facing severe difficulties due to the closure of the routes,

The stock of essential goods has completely run out and the people are forced to starve. Business centers, hotels, restaurants, and ATMs are also closed.

Due to the unavailability of medicines in Kurram, patients suffering from cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, and other diseases including heart are facing severe difficulties,

According to civil society, 132 children have died so far due to the lack of quality treatment.

Due to the closure of public transport, it is difficult for citizens to move from one place to another, as a result of the closure of mobile services, the communication system is disrupted.

Protests are ongoing at four locations in the district against the closure of highways and unrest in Kurram.

Thousands of people are participating in the main protest in front of Kurram Press Club. Despite the severe cold and rain, people from all walks of life, including young, old, and young, are participating in the protest.

Tehsil Chairman Muzammil Hussain says that the decision taken by the leaders of both sides is commendable.

May God grant that it becomes a cradle of peace. The main demand of the protest is the protection of the road. The protest will continue until the road is made safe.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Barrister Saif says that convoys will be sent to Kurram on Saturday. First, there will be movement on the road through a convoy.
