Karachi Internet Crashes Amid Monsoon Rains

Karachi’s Internet Services Have Been Severely Affected Due To Heavy Monsoon Rains, Leaving Millions Of Users Across The Country Disconnected. The Disruption In PTCL’s Services Has Also Impacted Ufone Users, While Other Telecom Companies, Including Jazz, Zong, and Telenor, Have Experienced Connectivity Issues. Global Internet Monitoring Agency Netblocks Has Confirmed That Internet Connectivity In Pakistan Has Dropped To Only 20% Of Normal Levels, With Users Continuously Posting Complaints On Social Media Asking, “Why Is The Internet Not Working In Pakistan?” A PTCL Spokesperson Confirmed That Teams Are Working Diligently To Restore Services And Expressed Regret Over The Inconvenience Faced By Users. According To Sources In The Ministry Of IT & Telecom, The Disruption Was Caused By A Technical Fault At The Undersea Cable Landing Station In Clifton, Karachi. However, The Possibility Of An Undersea Cable Cut Has Been Ruled Out. An Official Stated That The Problem Has Now Reached A National Level, Affecting Upstream Traffic. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Has Also Confirmed That Technical Teams Are Actively Working To Resolve The Issue. Federal IT Minister Shaza Fatima Said That Ongoing Prolonged Power Outages In Karachi And Increased Load On The Network Have Contributed To This Crisis, While Floods In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Have Damaged Over 200 Telecom Towers, Putting Additional Pressure On The Communication System. Residents In Affected Areas Of Karachi Reported That The Internet And Mobile Network Outage had disconnected Them From Their Loved Ones. This Disruption Is Considered One Of The Most Severe In Recent Years, With Users Questioning How Long The Outage Will Continue And When PTCL Services Will Be Fully Restored.
