Kalat: Attack On Saindak Project Convoy
– Armed men attacked a convoy carrying machinery for the Saindak project in the Mangchar area of the Kalat district of Balochistan.
During the attack, the forces providing security to the convoy were also targeted, as a result of which reports of loss of life and property have been received.
Details of the attack
According to local sources, the convoy included about 30 vehicles, which were ambushed and attacked by armed men on the main highway.
Earlier, a security forces vehicle was targeted in a bomb blast, after which firing and explosions continued in the area for more than half an hour.
Casualties
According to initial reports, the forces and convoy personnel suffered casualties in the attack, while supply vehicles and machinery were also damaged. However, the authorities have not yet released details of the incident.
A fresh wave of unrest in Balochistan
This attack is the second major incident to occur on the main highways in Balochistan in the last 24 hours.
A day earlier, armed men had set up checkpoints and searched vehicles at various locations in the Bolan area, where the weapons of gunmen belonging to a member of the Balochistan Assembly were seized, but they were released.
The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for the attack, but no group has yet claimed responsibility for the latest attack in Kalat.
Security measures and government response
Authorities have tightened security in the area following the incident, while forces have launched a search operation to find the attackers.
There is public concern over the increasing violence in Balochistan, and citizens have demanded immediate and effective measures from the government to ensure peace and order in the region.
