Justice Aminuddin Khan Becomes Chief Of Federal Constitutional Court

Islamabad – Following the approval of the 27th Constitutional Amendment by the National Assembly and Senate, Justice Aminuddin Khan took oath as the first Chief of Pakistan’s Federal Constitutional Court.

He took the oath at the President’s House, administered by President Arif Ali Zardari. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Sahir Shamshad, Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi, Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, and other judicial and government officials.

Sources said Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan will occupy Room No. 1 at Islamabad High Court, while Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, Sarfaraz Dogar, will move to Room No. 2.

During the ceremony, the three judges of the Federal Constitutional Court – Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Amir Farooq, and Justice Ali Baqar Najfi – also took oath, administered by Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan. Several other Islamabad High Court judges and judicial officials attended, while a few were absent.
