Israel Strikes Iran: Top Military, Nuclear Chiefs Killed
Tehran/Jerusalem: The Middle East once again resounded with explosions. Israel carried out large-scale airstrikes against Iran,
In which dozens of Iranian nuclear and military targets, including the headquarters of the Revolutionary Guard, were targeted.
The attacks have confirmed the deaths of Iran’s army chief, the head of the Revolutionary Guard, and two senior nuclear scientists.
A major blow to Iranian science and defense
According to foreign media reports, the Israeli attack killed the former head of Iran’s Atomic Energy, Dr. Fereydoun Abbasi, and the president of Tehran’s Islamic Azad University, Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi.
Dr. Abbasi had survived an assassination attempt in 2010, but this time, fate was not on his side.
Deadly attack on Iran’s military leadership
The Israeli missile attack also reportedly killed Iranian Army Chief of Staff Major General Mohammad Baqeri and the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Hossein Salami.
Western media reported that the attacks also targeted compounds and residential areas used by top military and nuclear leaders.
US indifference, Israel’s “lonely war”
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the US was not involved in these attacks and that its priority was the protection of US forces in the Middle East. He said that Israel had taken unilateral action against Iran.
Emergency, sirens, and security alerts in Israel
A state of emergency has been declared in Israel due to the threat of an Iranian counterattack. Sirens and mobile warnings warned citizens in Jerusalem.
Global response: The clouds of war are deepening
Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong expressed deep concern over the Israel-Iran tensions, saying that “this conflict could destabilize the entire region.”
On the other hand, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, strongly condemned the Israeli attacks, saying that “the Zionist state has begun its painful end.”
