Iran Ready to Eliminate Terrorism, Secure Border with Pakistan: Gen. Mousavi

Tehran, IRNA – Chief Of Staff Of The Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Has Said That The Islamic Republic Of Iran Is Fully Prepared To Eradicate Terrorism And Secure Its Borders With Pakistan. In A Telephone Conversation With His Pakistani Counterpart, Field Marshal Asim Munir, On Tuesday, General Mousavi Pointed To The Increasing Cross-Border Movements Of Terrorist Groups And Stressed The Need For Joint Efforts To Eliminate Terrorism. Expressing Sympathy With The Flood-Affected People In Pakistan, He Said, “Iran Is Proud To Extend Any Possible Assistance To Our Dear Brothers In Pakistan.” He Further Expressed Satisfaction Over The State Of Bilateral Ties, Highlighting That Iran And Pakistan Have Been Engaging And Cooperating At Various Levels. Mousavi Particularly Commended Pakistan’s Support For Iran During The Recent 12-Day Israeli-Imposed War. In Response, Field Marshal Asim Munir Thanked General Mousavi For His Sympathy Toward The Pakistani Nation And Offered Condolences For The Victims Of The Recent Terrorist Attack In Iran’s Sistan And Baluchestan Province. Munir Reiterated The Importance Of Securing The Shared Borders And Emphasized That Both Countries Should Work Together To Transform The Pakistan-Iran Frontier Into A “Border Of Friendship, Brotherhood, And Economic Development.”
