Iran Desires More Pakistani Students

Punjab University hosted a group of students from various Iranian universities on Sunday. The leaders of several universities, educators, and academics were in the group, which was chaired by Dr. Seyyed Abolhasan Navvab, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Iran University of Religions and Denominations.

Dr. Navvab highlighted his attempts to improve cultural links between the two nations and fortify his connections with Pakistani universities. He emphasized that although relationships between Pakistan and Iran could have been closer in the past, the Iranian administration is still committed to maintaining good relations with Pakistan. He also underlined Pakistanis’ worldwide presence.

The delegates stated that while thousands of international students are now enrolled in Iranian universities, they would want to see more Pakistani students study there. They claimed that centers had been set up at Iranian universities to promote scholarly exchanges between Pakistan and Iran.

The team headed by Dr. Seyyed Abolhasan Navvab, the chairman of Iran’s University of Religions and Denominations Board of Trustees, included academic leaders, educators, and researchers.

Dr. Navvab stated that he was eager to foster cultural linkages with Pakistan in addition to fostering relationships with Pakistani universities. He stated that although the Iranian administration was building great ties with Pakistan, it would have been preferable if those ties had been stronger in the past. He claimed that Pakistanis were dispersed around the globe.

Dr. Khalid Mahmood, vice chancellor of PU, revealed that agreements have been reached with Iranian universities to foster cooperation. He conveyed a wish to strengthen scientific collaboration with Iranian establishments.

The incoming delegates declared that “we wish to increase the number of Pakistani students in Iranian universities” and that thousands of international students were enrolled in Iranian universities. According to them, centers have also been set up in Iranian universities to foster scholarly exchanges between Pakistan and Iran.

In order to foster cooperation, agreements have been formed with Iranian universities, according to PU Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Mahmood. He declared his intention to foster scientific collaboration with Iranian universities.

The Iranian team exhibited interest in a range of academic and research areas while touring many departments at Punjab University.
