Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto Arrives In Islamabad For Two-day Visit

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Islamabad on a two-day official visit to Pakistan. President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed him at Nur Khan Airbase. Members of the federal cabinet and senior officials were also present for the reception.

Upon arrival, President Prabowo Subianto was greeted with a cordial handshake by the President and Prime Minister. Children dressed in traditional attire presented flowers, while children holding the flags of both countries extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guest. The visit was also marked by a 21-gun salute.

This is President Prabowo Subianto’s first visit to Pakistan. The last presidential visit from Indonesia took place in 2018, when President Joko Widodo visited. The visit is particularly significant as Pakistan and Indonesia are celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year.

During the visit, President Prabowo Subianto will hold delegation-level talks with the Prime Minister and also meet President Arif Alvi. The discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, defence, health, IT, climate change, education, and culture, as well as enhancing regional and global partnerships.

Pakistan and Indonesia share close, friendly, and longstanding ties based on shared values and mutual interests. President Prabowo Subianto’s visit provides an important opportunity to further strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation for mutual benefit, contributing to the continuous growth of partnership between the two nations.
