Rawalpindi: Six soldiers, including a lieutenant colonel, were martyred in an exchange of fire between the Pakistan Army and Khawarij in North Waziristan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army, there was an exchange of fire between security forces and Khawarij in the Spanwam area of North Waziristan, as a result of which 6 Khawarij were killed.
According to ISPR, 6 soldiers including Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shaukat were also martyred in the fierce exchange of fire with the Khawarij.
According to ISPR, operations were conducted against Khawarij between 4th and 5th October and Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shaukat was leading the operation against Khawarij.
ISPR said that the other 5 jawans who were martyred include Lance Naik Muhammadullah, Lance Naik Akhtar Zaman, Lance Naik Shahidullah, Lance Naik Yusuf Ali, and Sepoy Jameel Ahmed.
According to ISPR, the 43-year-old martyred lieutenant colonel belongs to Faisalabad, while the other five jawans belong to Khyber, Lakki Marwat, Tank, Orakzai, and Swat.
ISPR says that the security forces are committed to ending the menace of terrorism, and the sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.
