In Los Angeles, a Boeing Plane’s Wheel falls

One of Boeing’s many safety worries occurred on Monday when the aircraft was taking off from Los Angeles and lost a wheel.

The Boeing 757-200 was flown by United Airlines, which reported that following takeoff from Los Angeles International Airport, the aircraft lost control but made a safe landing in Denver, Colorado.

The airline released a statement saying, “The wheel has been recovered in Los Angeles, and we are investigating what caused this event.”

174 passengers and seven crew members were on board, but neither the ground nor the passengers reported any injuries.

It was the second occasion in a few months that a wheel came off a Boeing aircraft flown by United Airlines after takeoff.

Shortly after taking off from San Francisco in March, a tyre on a Boeing 777 headed for Japan came off. An emergency landing had to be made by the aeroplane.

As part of a settlement with the US Department of Justice over two deadly 737 MAX crashes, Boeing decided on Monday to admit guilt to fraud.

After a fuselage door plug on the same type blew out during an Alaska Airlines flight in January, Boeing has been under increased scrutiny for the 737 MAX this year.

In an email, a Boeing representative stated that the 757-200 plane that was launched on Monday was originally delivered in 1994, which is thirty years ago.

In 2004, the 757 model’s production was stopped.

The incident on Monday is being looked into by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Since an almost disastrous incident in January when a fuselage panel burst out of a 737 MAX operated by Alaska Airlines, the manufacturer has been under severe scrutiny.

Boeing announced earlier on Monday that it has struck a settlement with the US Department of Justice regarding the two fatal 737 MAX crashes. According to court filings, the airline will enter a guilty plea to fraud.

The prosecution had come to the conclusion that Boeing had broken a previous settlement on the incidents, which occurred more than five years ago and resulted in the deaths of 346 people in Ethiopia and Indonesia.
