In a tragic series of attacks on Sunday, two soldiers and a police constable were martyred in separate incidents in Dera Ismail Khan and Lakki Marwat districts. The attacks also left several others injured.
In the first incident, militants targeted a convoy of security forces and an elite force unit near the Maddi area in Kulachi tehsil, Dera Ismail Khan district. As a result, two soldiers, Havaldar Mohammad Shaukat and Sepoy Mohammad Imran, were martyred, while three others—identified as Amjad, Ajmal, and Jahanzeb—sustained injuries.
Following the attack, police and security forces, along with Rescue 1122 teams, quickly arrived at the scene. The martyred and injured soldiers were transported to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in D.I. Khan.
In a separate incident in Lakki Marwat district, militants ambushed a police van, leading to the martyrdom of police constable Nisar Ahmad, who was part of the Frontier Reserve Police. The attack also injured Bargai Police Station SHO Shakir Khan and two other constables.
According to officials, the police party was conducting a routine patrol in a remote rural area near the tribal region when the ambush occurred. Following the attack, a large contingent of police was deployed to the area to search for the assailants who fled the scene.
These incidents highlight the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in the region as they continue to confront militant activities.
