During a recent press conference, Vedant Patel, the Deputy Spokesman of the US State Department, stated that the US has warned countries that have trade agreements with Iran of potential sanctions
When asked about the Iranian President’s visit to Pakistan and the signing of multiple agreements between the two countries, Patel advised that Pakistan’s government should speak about their foreign policy. In response to a question about US sanctions on companies that supplied missile equipment to Pakistan, Patel explained that the sanctions were imposed due to the proliferation of weapons and their means of delivery.
These companies were based in China and Belarus, and the US government observed the supply of equipment and consumables for Pakistan’s ballistic missile program. Patel also stated that the US government will continue to act against networks of proliferators and those who procure weapons of mass destruction, no matter where they occur.
