If the Indus Treaty is Broken, 6 Rivers Will Belong To Pakistan: DG ISPR

Pakistan Army Spokesperson Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that if India violates the Indus Waters Treaty, all 6 rivers will belong to Pakistan in the event of Kashmir’s independence.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, DG ISPR said that Pakistan’s armed forces responded befittingly to Indian aggression and shot down 6 Indian warplanes in recent clashes. He said that the Indian army has been taught a lesson that they will never forget.

Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif said that Pakistan exposed India not only on the military but also on the diplomatic, media and moral fronts in defense. He said that we responded openly, not in the dark of night, announced 26 targets and targeted all of them.

He said that India spread false propaganda, made baseless claims and fabricated stories of fake attacks, but the world recognized Pakistan’s truth and transparency. The Indian media and leadership kept lying while Pakistan did not arrest a single journalist.

The DG ISPR said that Pakistan’s air, land and naval forces worked in complete harmony, the entire nation united and stood against the Indian attack and forced the enemy to retreat.

Speaking on the Indus Waters Treaty, he said that this treaty was reached through international mediation in 1960, but if India violates it, then Pakistan will be entitled to all the rivers in the context of the disputed status of Kashmir.

On the situation in Gaza, he said that the Israeli actions are tantamount to genocide, which is a stain on the global conscience. He urged the Muslim Ummah to increase its strength and unity so that the oppressed can be defended.

The DG ISPR said that Pakistan respects every citizen, religion and holy place, and cannot hide the truth by making false allegations like India.
