Humaira Asghar Laid to Rest in Lahore

The body of actress and model Humaira Asghar, found dead in her apartment in Defence Phase 6, Karachi, has been shifted to Lahore for burial. Her funeral prayer is scheduled to be offered today in Green Town, Lahore.

The body was handed over to her brother, who arrived in Karachi last night following the completion of legal formalities. Speaking to the media, he disclosed that his last contact with Humaira was approximately 10 months ago.

He added that a sudden family tragedy had delayed their arrival in Karachi, which resulted in a delay in claiming the body. However, the family remained in constant coordination with the police, and all required legal steps were followed.

Meanwhile, Karachi police have confirmed that the investigation is underway. Several leads are being chased to determine the cause of death, including recovered data from the actress’s cell phone and Chand’s (CDR). Individuals recently in contact with her, including a taxi driver, are being questioned.

BACKGROUND OF THE CASE
On July 8, 2025, the Gizri police, accompanied by a court officer of the court, broke into a human apartment in the Ittehad commercial area to enforce an unpaid rental order since April 2024.

Inside, the authorities discovered their decomposed body, with the main doors and porch of the apartment locked inside, indicating that she was alone at the time of death.
