An Undergraduate Admission Test (UAT) will now be required for university admissions, according to a new requirement set by Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC).
In order to be eligible for university entrance, intermediate school graduates must receive at least 50% of the possible points on this exam.
The seven categories that the UAT will cover are engineering, medicine, computer science, and commerce. July is the planned month for the tests.
Up to June 30th, prospective candidates can apply for the UAT via the HEC website. Through the use of a similar test, admissions processes at different colleges will be streamlined and applicants will receive a uniform evaluation.
The HEC’s ruling highlights the significance of this exam for all students pursuing higher education, emphasising how crucial it is to upholding uniform academic standards across the country.
The Undergraduate Admission Test (UAT) will now be required for university admissions, according to a recent announcement by Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC). Students who have finished their intermediate education and want to pursue undergraduate courses in a variety of fields are the target audience for this test. Students must score at least 50% in each of the seven UAT categories—engineering, medicine, computer science, and commerce—in order to be considered for admission.
The UAT application process is open on the HEC website until June 30 and is scheduled to begin in July. The HEC highlights that the goal of introducing this exam is to encourage equity in university admissions throughout Pakistan. The HEC hopes to ensure fair access to higher education for all students by implementing a standardised assessment that would uphold consistent academic standards across the country.
This initiative strengthens the HEC’s commitment to improving educational quality and accessibility in Pakistan and represents a major step towards levelling the playing field for students applying to undergraduate programmes.
