Heavy Storms Hit D.I. Khan, 7 Dead, 34 Injured

At around 11:00 pm, heavy rainfall accompanied by strong storms severely affected parts of Dera Ismail Khan, and Paharpur. As a result, seven fatalities have been confirmed; three in Paharpur and four in D.I. Khan (Yarik and Zafarabad). A total of 34 injured individuals were received at DHQ Hospital, out of which 4 are in critical condition, 24 sustained minor injuries, and 6 remain under admission. No casualties have been reported from Kulachi and Paroa as of yet. The heavy storms caused widespread damage, particularly uprooting and toppling trees across multiple areas, which blocked roads and posed risks to nearby structures and vehicles. In terms of infrastructure, electricity lines fell in front of DHQ Hospital, prompting immediate cordoning of the area after PESCO was informed. Heavy winds also damaged rooftop solar systems at various locations. All concerned line departments are actively engaged in the field. WSSC teams are clearing roads to restore access, while PESCO teams are working to remove fallen electricity wires from roadways and ensure public safety. Rescue operations are ongoing, medical assistance is being provided, and further verification of damages is in progress.
